OAKHURST NORTH TORPEDOES MEMBER VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT
Job/Worker Coordinator Contact: sissi_herrera_villalva@hotmail.com
Volunteers play a critical part in the success of ONT. Meets cannot run safely or efficiently without the proper number of volunteers.
ALL Members are required to work the number of REQUIRED jobs in a regular season. Championship Conference meets (Silver and Gold) are not included. If your child swims in a championship meet (Silver or Gold), you will be required to work a job for that meet.
MEMBER EXPECTATIONS
- All members can sign up for two (2) jobs per swim meet.
- All members are required to sign up for at least one (1) away meet.
- All members who have swimmers 10 years old or under are required to sign up for bullpen position twice in a regular season.
- All members who have swimmers attending the Silver or Gold meet will be required to work.
- All members who have swimmers attending Silver or Gold meets will only need to do one (1) job at either of the Champ meets and not both.
- Silver Championship Meet is an ONT-hosted meet, and we have over 20 jobs to fill, and we may need members who have swimmers attending the Gold meet to fill in.
GENERAL INFO
- Job sign-ups will open a week or less before the first official swim meet of the regular season. Members will be notified via email when sign-ups is open. We recommend you sign up quickly to ensure you get the job in the swim meet you prefer. Waiting too long to sign up may result in working in a swim meet that your swimmer is not attending.
- Please triple-check the job you are signing up for. If you make an error and sign up for the wrong swim meet, it may result in a “no show,” or you have to work a swim meet you did not intend to.
- All job volunteers must be there at least 30 minutes before the meet start time unless the job specifies an earlier start time.
- All jobs are the full length of the swim meet. You cannot leave mid-session or halfway when volunteering.
- Stroke and Turn (S&T) judges or officials, Starter, and Meet Manager Scorer require training or certification. DO NOT sign up for these jobs without prior training
- Members can sign up for jobs in swim meets even if their swimmers are not committed to competing, just to fulfill the required number of jobs in a regular season
- If a member must cancel their ability to work, they must find their replacement and notify the worker coordinator at sissi_herrera_villalva@hotmail.com.
- If your child cannot swim in a meet in which you are scheduled to work due to illness or otherwise, you are still responsible for finding a replacement. No exceptions.
- Members may choose to hire/send someone in their place. ONT does not have a list of volunteers for hire. Members will be responsible for finding/arranging their replacements.
- We ask that all volunteers be 15 years or older and comfortable with the job you have signed them up for.
- Accommodations can be made for physical limitations (there are job options for all abilities). Please email sissi_herrera_villalva@hotmail.com if you need assistance finding the job best for you.
- In case of an emergency/illness, please email the job/worker coordinator at sissi_herrera_villalva@hotmail.com.
- Stroke and Turn (S&T) judge or official and Starter may be required to work either of the two (2) Trident Championship Meets or both.
CONSEQUENCES FOR MISSING/NO JOBS:
- $100 Fine per missed job (Example: If you missed 2 jobs, you are fined $200)
- Failure to work one of your assigned jobs, without finding a replacement, will cash the $100 volunteer check as a penalty
- If the check deposit is cashed, we require the family to replenish it ASAP, or ONT may disallow the swimmer's participation in the next meet and will notify the family.
- If members choose not to commit their swimmers to any meets, it is your prerogative. But you are still REQUIRED to do the number of required jobs in a regular season. No exceptions! Our job/worker coordinator will work with you to fulfill your required jobs.
- If your child is not able to swim in a meet in which you are scheduled to work due to illness or otherwise, you are still responsible for finding a replacement. No exceptions! Our job/worker coordinator will work with you to fulfill your required jobs.
COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS
- Each family is required to sign up for at least ONE Committee Volunteer position
- There are over 55 committee leads and volunteer helper slots available. Choose what best suits you and your schedule.
- If you do NOT sign up, the team’s Committee Coordinator will assign one for you.
